1.In short
- You can use Qabul without an account. Then everything stays in your browser, on your device.
- If you create an account, your profile, saved universities, plans, practice results and essay are stored in it so they follow you to other devices.
- Certificate files always stay on the device you added them on.
- Files, essays and chat messages are sent to an AI service only when you ask Qabul to read or mark them, or when you chat with Ask Qabul.
- We don't sell data, show ads, or use tracking cookies.
2.What stays on your device
Everything you type (grades, test scores, languages, activities, your essay, chosen deadlines and practice results) is saved in your browser's storage. Certificate files are saved in the browser too.
Clearing your browser data deletes it. Without an account, another browser or device starts fresh, because nothing is stored on our servers.
3.If you create an account
Accounts are run on Supabase, which stores your email, your name, a securely hashed password (if you use one) and the data you save on Qabul. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us; we never see your Google password.
Only you can read or change your saved data. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page, which permanently deletes everything stored in it. Logging out removes your data from that device.
4.When you use AI features
When you upload a certificate to be read, or submit an IELTS essay for marking, that file or text passes through our server to an AI provider (Google Gemini, or Anthropic's Claude) and the result comes back to you. Large files are uploaded to the provider temporarily and deleted after reading.
When you chat with Ask Qabul, your messages and a short summary of your profile (such as your grades, scores and intended major) are sent the same way so the answer fits you.
We don't keep a copy. The AI provider handles the data under its own terms for API customers.
5.Other services
- University logos are loaded from Google's website-icon service, which sees which university websites are shown.
- The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security.
6.Students under 18
Qabul is made for school students. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian's knowledge.
7.Your choices
- Delete anything in your profile or achievements at any time.
- Delete your account, and everything saved in it, from the Account page.
- Clear your browser's site data for Qabul to remove everything at once.
- Don't use the AI features if you prefer your files never leave your device.
8.Changes
If we add features that change what we collect, we'll update this page first.
